Food brings people together and our area has so many talented and passionate food producers.  Each one of these small businesses need to connect with consumers, but they don’t all need to “go it alone.”   A local food hub at “The Merc” aims to bring resources, training, storage solutions, business development support to help producers thrive.  Working with University of Minnesota Extension experts, we are planning a commercial kitchen, cold and dry storage and retail space within the Madison Mercantile building.  We  hope to be running during the 2025 growing season and built to full capacity during the 2026 growing season.  Let’s see what we can grow together!
