Eight months later...

My monthly blog was well intentioned... just didn't turn out to be very "monthly." It's been eight months since I penned a post and so very much has happened at th


e Merc! All good, all at warp speed. Here's a very brief and not well composed recap! ..


Dec 21 -January 22: Roger Grammond Exhibit, started Trivia Nights, host

meetings, Charlie Roth Music, Boyd's Landing Band, hosted baptisms, quilt clubs, Study clubs, Arts Council meetings, Christmas Market...built the Art Gallery, finished up the plumbing, started two-year stint as Initiator Fellow! Stood up the Men's Shed and refinanced the building (to pay for the plumbing....ugh). Passed kitchen inspection.


February 22: Opened the Coffee House, got a liquor licence started the Diversity Council, hosted family reunions, Garfield Men's bible study...continued hosting for Study Club, Q


uilt Club, NA, Social Media skills, Arts Council, Community Foundation ...added the Lac qui Parle Players meeting... and officially opened the Coffee House!


March 22: All the usual meetings plus birthday parties, memorial events, political and civic events, strategic planning and food buying club. Hosted Lac qui Parle Arty Party and officially opened the Art Gallery. Started the local foods group.


April 22: Hosted food distribution, Music by Prairie Voice, popular Trivia nights and all the "usual suspects" meetings and the first Madison Newcomers Night.


May 22: Doug Peterson in the Gallery, a million hosted meetings, environmental lectures, birthday parties!


June 22: Graduations and Memorials...Mary Boylan in the Gallery. A Caregiver support grant! Charlie and MorningBird - and we start to paint the building.


July 22: ALL the meetings. DragonFest, bridal showers, memorial lunches. Charlie Roth with Terry Klien. 18 gallons of primer, 8 gallons of final coat. Yikes!




Aug 22: Dallas Nyflot in the gallery. All the MANY meetings hosted. Grief Support Group added. Camden Recap moves in. Country Butcher moves in. Vacations taken. Birthday parties, union meetings, Charlie brings us Dave Stoddard and Matt Fockler.


Whew. It's been a wonderful ride!
